CANTON
The Old School Baptist Church at Canton was organized on October 13, 1838, at the home of Brother Elisha Kenyon, with nine charter members, viz., Elder Moses Clark, Elisha Kenyon, Archibald Y. Murray, James Foster, and Sisters Clark, Kenyon, Murray, Foster, and Miss Clark.

LITTLE ZION
Little Zion Church was organized in 1936, with five charter members, viz., Oscar Wallace, Esther Doty Wallace, William N. Tinsley, Irene Tinsley, and Chauncy C. Smith. The presbytery was composed of Elders J. W. Skinner, Andrew Pitman, C. V. Compton, Hugh Williams, A. D. Pitney, E. L. Kinter, and Deacon Earle Silveus. These brethren represented Shiloh, Raisin River, Eagle Creek, Thompson, and Rocky Fork churches.
The meetings were held, at first, at 10218 Dexter Boulevard, in Detroit. By 1938 the church was meeting at 7114 Barrie Street, in Dearborn, south off of Warren Avenue. Elder C. V. Compton was chosen the first pastor. Others who have served as pastor or assistant pastor include Elders E. L. Kinter, A. D. Pitney, Howard Edwards, Denton Milner, and H. V. Booth. Elder Howard Edwards is the present pastor.
