CHURCHES:
HONEY CREEK (TIFFIN/BLOOMVILLE)
On the 27th of May, 1827, the Baptist church, named Honey Creek, was organized. It was the first church in Bloomtownship. The council was composed of Elders Thomas Snelson, of Highland county, and Benjamin Caves, of Pickaway county, and Deacon John Hite, of Fairfield county. In 1830, Elder Lewis Seitz was chosen pastor of this church and served for many years. In 1856 property belonging to Benjamin Huddle was bought for $20 and at this place the church still stands. However, the first church built upon that spot was partially destroyed by a tornado and along with it the records of the church up to that date. Therefore much of the early history is not known./
