CHURCHES:
STAUNTON
The Staunton Church was organized at the pioneer home of Stephen Dye, on November 3, 1804, with seven charter members, viz., Moses Winters, Nathaniel Gerard, Stephen Dye, William Knight, Elizabeth Winters, Mary Gerard, and Mehitable Dye. The presbytery was composed of Elders Joshua Carmon and John Smith. Elder Smith became the first pastor of the church.
NETTLE CREEK
Nettle Creek Church was an early member of the Miami Association.

LOST CREEK
Lost Creek Church was the first church of any faith to be organized in Lost Creek Township. It was organized at the home of Jonathan Cavault, in 1816, by members dismissed from the Staunton church. Samuel Deweese was the first minister, and Rachel Webb was the first accession. David Archer had the honor of being the first Moderator, and John Wilson, afterward Judge, and a member of the Legislature, Clerk.
The Pastors of the church, since its organization, were Elders Samuel Deweese, Moses Frazee, Robert Stapleton, and others.
