The actual date when the Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church was constituted is uncertain. The first conference meeting was recorded November 7, 1857; however, it is obvious that the church was in existence for some time before this date. The church was probably organized in someone's home and met there until a permanent building could be constructed.
