ROCKY FORD (1843)

Rocky Ford Church, located in the western part of Taylor County, Florida, near the Aucilla River, has a history extending back to 1843. Its impact upon the heritage of the county is unexcelled. Ministers who served in this area, at Shiloh, Fellowship, Corinth, and others including Rocky Ford, include: Elders T. P. Hamilton, Matthew Jones, A. J. McLeod, E. J. Harvill, W. P. Strickland, W. D. Brooks, J. E. Blanton, Poppell, and W. H. Goodwin. Messengers from these churches to the Association include the following names: B. D. Poppell, E. J. Harvill, P. L. Fulford, D. E. Sheffield, A. H. Murphy, W. A. Rowell, W. M. Roberts, W. Poppell, J. C. English, B. M. Johnson, W. M. Wilcox (taken from minutes of 1879, 1910, 1913, and 1926).
