Okeechobees Primitive Baptist Church was established May 24, 1919, with 11 members. Elder Dan Wilkerson was first pastor. The church moved into its new building in 1923; land for the building was donated by Peter and Louisiana Raulerson. Pastors after 1946, included Elders W. H. Harden, T. R. Crawford, Van E. Lightsey (1956), and Donald McCullers (1965).
