Ephesus Church was constituted at a school house in Jefferson County, on September 30, 1893, with the following members, viz., R. F. Stevenson, W. F. Stevenson, C. T. Nordan, J. M. Allen, G. E. Stevenson, Mary Stevenson, and E. T. Youngblood. Elders J. C. Wilkinson, Z. J. Wilkinson, and T. W. Wilkinson, with deacon Z. R. Cosey formed the presbytery.
