INDIAN RIVER (WINTER BEACH)(1887)
Indian River Church was organized in December 1887, by a presbytery composed of Elders J. A. Blanton, Z. H. Bennett, and M. Jones. the present building is the third, after moving from the original location on John's Island. Pastors who have served include: Elders Z. N. Bennett, J. W. Swain, D. B. Sheffield, E. S. W. Holland, W. P. Strickland, W. F. Cox, J. J. Blanton, and H. Leon Blanton. Indian River Church is the mother church of all the Primitive Baptist churches in southeast Florida, either directly or indirectly.
