Three Churches of the Friendship Association of Georgia (Controlled by Gus Harter) Withdraw, and Correspondence with the Friendship Association is Dropped by the Bear Creek Association of North Carolina

The Liberals believe that unless we all give our money and engage in a great human effort for evangelism, that the church is going to die. Hence, they make great promises of what would happen if we give them money. However, a brief review of what has happened in actual fact, where this has been tried, shows how badly the promise of prosperity has failed, and proves what many have been saying all along would happen instead - division, trouble, and declension has resulted.

In Gus Harter's own home backyard, near Atlanta, Georgia, three of the churches which formerly made up the Friendship Association have withdrawn because of the liberal movement being in control as a result of Bethany Church's involvement in the liberal movement, it being the largest church in the Association, and being in support of Gus Harter and his Liberal Progressive Movement. Hardeman, Ivy, and Cool Springs Churches, which formerly belonged to the association have withdrawn completely.

In addition, the correspondence which the Friendship Association formerly had with the Bear Creek Association of North Carolina was dropped in 2001, by the following action:

"After some discussion, there was a move, second and unanimous vote to discontinue correspondence with the Friendship of Georgia Association." - Copied from the Mintues of the Bear Creek Association, North Carolina, September 2001.
