CHESTUA (1825)

Chestua Church was organized on the second Saturday in July, 1825, by Elders George Snider, James Sewell and Obed Patty. There were about twenty charter members, including John Coltharp, Thomas White, James Buckner, and James Majors. They had met previous to this as an arm of Zion Hill Church in McMinn County.
