Regarding Sugar Camp Creek Church

History of the Franklin Association, 1880, by W. P. Throgmorton, page 223.

W. P. Throgmorton, in his History of the Franklin Association, says, "SUGAR CAMP. This church was organized February 26th, 1842, principally under the labors of Elder T. M. Vance. The number of members entering the organization was eighteen. Elder T. M. Vance, H. Vise, and S. M. Williams were the council.

The records of Sugar Camp Creek United Baptist Church, transcribed by the Effingham County Genealogical Society, in 1986, show that it was organized February 26, 1842, with fifteen members, by Silas M. Williams, T. M. Vance, and Hosea Vice.
