Regarding East Fork Church

History of the Franklin Association, 1880, by W. P. Throgmorton, pp. 36-38.

Throgmorton says, "Pleasant Grove Church is situated, or has its meeting house, about five miles east of old Frankfort, Franklin county. This body was constituted in 1840. The day and the month we are unable to give. It was organized under the labors of Elders Wilfred and Hezekiah Ferrell. They found several persons in the neighborhood holdings letters from United Baptist churches in Tennessee, besides some who had left the old East Fork church, for going off with the Hardshells. It was organized with twelve members. The council present was Elders William Ferrell, Wilfred Ferrell, and Hezekiah Ferrell.
