TESTAMENT (LAFAYETTE)(1812)

Testament Church was constituted in 1812, an offspring of Salt Lick Church, and united with the Concord Association the same year. In 1822, it was constituent member of the Salem Association, and in 1837 withdrew and became part of the Round Lick Association of Primitive Baptists. Elder Miles West, of Salt Lick Church, was chosen pastor after the death of Elder Malcom Smith. The original meeting place was Gap of the Ridge, six miles northwest of Lafayette
