Gibson Church was organized at the home of Mr. Davis on April 23, 1825. Mr. Davis was one of the organizers and a member of the first Gibson County Court in 1824. He was a farmer and owned the first cotton gin in the county. He and his wife, Rachel, were among the first ten members of this church.
