HIGH HILL (MONROE)
High Hill Church was the first Primitive Baptist Church in Union County. It was organized in 1784. Elder John Bennett was the first pastor. The present church building was erected in 1962.

UNION GROVE (MONROE)
Union Grove Church, near Monroe, was organized in 1894. The present building was enlarged in 1957. Elder G. L. Chaney was the first pastor. Elder C. M. Mills served this church as pastor for 46 years. The church is a member of the Bear Creek Association.

CROOKED CREEK (MONROE)
Crooked Creek Church was organized November 21, 1879. The first pastor was Elder L. Chaney, who served from 1882 to 1905. He was followed by Elders Henry Taylor (1905-1913), W. T. Broadway (1913-1915), G. F. Denny (1917-1919), Atlas Broadway (1955-1977), Hoyle Simpson (1978-1983), and Larry Austin (1983 to present).
PLEASANT GROVE (MARSHVILLE)
Pleasant Grove Church, near Marshville, was organized January 13, 1904, by a presbytery composed of J. E. Williams, H. M. Williams, and Deacon Joel Mullis. They met at the home of Mr. J. R. Griffin. The charter members were J. F. Mills, Perriller Mills, Sarah Ann Griffin, J. A. Jones, and C. E. Griffin (all by letter from Watson Church), and Leander Williams, Adaline Williams, and Benjamin Thomas (all by letter from Jerusalem Church).
Elder J. F. Mills was called as their first pastor and served ten years. Following him were Elders Samuel McMillan, W. C. Edwards, J. M. Bagwell, W. F. Pruitt, P. J. Washburn, C. M. Mills, T. L. Webb, Joe Helms, Rom Kerley, and Richard Kirby. Clerks have been Leander Williams, T. A. Helms, A. E. Broome, Claude Mills, C. W. Griffin, Melvin Mills, T. B. Curlee, and Clayton Griffin. Deacons have included S. A. Williams, E. Mullis, L. L. Griffin, Lonnie Mills, T. F. Mills, W. A. Polk, Arthur Broome, J. M. Taylor, C. W. Griffin, Melvin Mills, T. B. Curlee, Park Mullis, Jimmy Helms, and R. W. Knight.
