CHURCHES:FEE FEE'S CREEK (1807)
The third Baptist Church organized in Missouri territory was called Fee Fee's Creek. It was organized in 1807, in what is now St. Louis County, by Elders David Badgley and William Jones (both of Illinois territory). It united with the Illinois Association in 1808, and was dismissed to unite with the Missouri Association when it was formed in 1817.
COLDWATER
Coldwater Church was organized in what is now St. Louis County, in 1809.
FIRST REGULAR BAPTIST OF ST. LOUIS
The First Regular Baptist Church of St. Louis, Missouri, was constituted on March 29, 1879, by Elder E. H. Burnam, who lived on Laclede Avenue in St. Louis at that time.
SHARON
Sharon Church was organized on June 29, 1930, with the following members, viz., William C. Pentecost, Emma Pentecost, Clinton J. Pentecost, Mary Pentecost, Wayne Bledsoe, Julia Lee, Lena Lee, Elvis M. Smith, Lula Smith, Pansy Lee, Charlotte Lee, Icy Roe Vermillion, Martha Jenkins, Dora Drennan, and Amanda Higgins. The presbytery was composed of Elders F. M. Pope, J. H. Hardy, W. J. Hardesty, D. B. Nowels, Russell Dudley, A. D. Hancock, and Oscar Campbell, and Deacons D. F. Sellers, and Archie Sellers. The church being organized, proceeded to business, and chose Elder F. M. Pope as pastor, and received Sister Jessie Pentecost by baptism and Sister Nora Welch by letter. Bro. Elvis M. Smith was then ordained deacon.
Elder F. M. Pope served as pastor until his death, in 1948. In 1939, Elder J. H. Hardy was called as assistant pastor, and a few years later became joint pastor. In 1949, Elder J. Bryan Adair was chosen as joint pastor with Elder Hardy. Elder Eugene Ford united with the church in 1951, was ordained to the ministry in 1953, and served as joing pastor with Elder Adair.
For several years the church met in homes and rented halls. The church bought a vacant lot at 6765 Easton Avenue, and worked toward a meeting house. The building was completed and dedicated in June 1941. The church later purchased property and moved to Fenton, Missouri.
