CHURCHES:

UNITY ("OLD FLINTLOCK")(WESTON)(1840)

Unity Church, near Woodruff, or Weston, was organized in August 1840. A log meeting house was built at the site. Unity Church was a member of the Western Corresponding Association for many years. We have obtained newspaper articles regarding the old log church building. Elder R. M. Thomas, of St. Joseph, Mo., served the church as pastor for many years.

Todd's Creek Church was organized by 1840 or earlier, as it united with the Fishing River Association that year, with 34 members. Elders E. Turner, T. Turner, and B. R.
