NEW BETHEL
MUDDY FORK (4 MI NE GEORGETOWN)
Muddy Fork Church was organized by Elders Jacob Chism and William Jennings, and was probably the first church of any denomination organized in the county. The charter members included James Anderson, John O'Bannon, Solomon Reed, Thomas Wasson, and Adam Scott.
WALNUT BRANCH (10 MILES W. OF SEDALIA, ELK FORK TOWNSHIP)
Walnut Branch Church was organized on Saturday before the first Sunday in June 1834, at the home of Elder Martelles Embree. The presbytery was composed of Elders Martelles Embree and Fielding Wolf. Athel Wolf was clerk and C. Kidd was deacon. The last building (which burned in 1953) was built in 1890, ten miles west of Sedalia on the 16th Street Road, at the site of the Walnut Branch/Botts cemetery. It was a frame structure, 30 x 40. Walnut Branch Church was a member of the Lamine River Association, and later of the Mt. Zion Association.

SOUTH FORK
A church called South Fork was organized as early as 1848 or before, and was part of the Lamine River Association. On October 15, 1855, Absalom and Sarah Williams conveyed three acres of land to Isaiah Purgin and Thomas Berry as church trustees, for the purpose of building thereon a house for divine worship. The United Baptists were to have use of it on the 2nd Saturday and Sunday each month, and the Regular Baptists to have use of it the 3rd Saturday and Sunday each month. Use of the spring was also granted.
SOUTH FORK OF WALNUT BRANCH
South Fork of Walnut Branch Church was organized on the third Saturday in October, 1876, with twelve charter members, viz., C. M. Lambert, Robert Nutt, Kate E. Mills, Grace E. Welch, Lucinda Daniels, William M. Vickrey, Mary J. Vickrey, Hannah Payne, Matilda McHatton, Rachel Welch, Elizabeth Welch, and Martha Davis. The presbytery was composed of Elder James Teague (moderator), J. D. Mercer, Daniel Botts, and Joel C. Ham (clerk).
