CHURCHES:

ENON

Enon Church, at Great Cacapon, was organized on the second Sunday in August 1869. Elder Joshua Hudson was the first pastor, and was assisted by Elder George Love in the constitution of this church. Elder Hudson was followed as pastor by Elders John A. Corder, Philip McInrutff, Thomas N. Alderton, J. T. Power, Thomas W. Alderton, Charles W. Alderton, Douglas Heare and Toliver Utz. Enon Church was originally an arm of Little Cacapon Church, and was organized with 17 charter members. It was originally a member of the Patterson's Creek Association. The first building was located about a mile from the present meeting house, which was erected in 1881.
