CHURCHES:

LOUTRE

A church near Loutre Island was organized in 1810, with Elder Joseph Baker as the first pastor. The charter members were Samuel Brown, Joseph Baker, John Savage, Delaney Bolen, William Savage, John Snethen, Elisha Todd, Benjamin Gammon, Abraham Groom, Susanna Savage, Elizabeth Williams, Prudence Snethen, Frances Brown, Patsey Bolen, Mary Savage, Margaret Jolly, Sally Gammon, Sarah Todd, and Sarah Groom.

LITTLE BETHEL

Little Bethel Church was an early member of the Cuivre Association (having joined prior to 1828).

NEW PROVIDENCE (1826)

Ann and Emanuel Sailor, William and Elizabeth Jones, Maggie Cobb, and Sibby Peveler were all charter members of New Providence Church with Jabez and Hannah Ham being among the organizers in 1826.

MACEDONIA

ELKHORN (1876)

Elkhorn Church, near Montgomery City, was organized in 1876, with seven charter members, by Elders Peter Branstetter and Stephen Ham. The church soon built a comfortable meeting house, and the membership soon increased to about twenty-five. The church became a member of the Cuivre-Siloam Association. Elder Branstetter served the church as pastor for many years.
