Lacy Valley Church was organized in November 1931, at a schoolhouse on Lacy Fork of Mine Fork, Paint Creek, in Magoffin County, with eighteen charter members. They were from Elk Fork Church in Morgan County. After many years meeting at this place, several members moved to Cannonsburg for work during World War II, and in 1958 they decided to build a meeting house at their present location in Cannonsburg. There was no division, as the original Lacy Valley Church is still meeting at Mine Fork, Kentucky.
