CHURCHES:

SUGAR CREEK

Sugar Creek Church was organized in 1843, in Lee County, and united with the Des Moines River Association the same year. Elder William Bradley was an early member of this church. The exact location of the church's meetings is uncertain, but it was in the general vicinity of Franklin Center. Another account states that it was located in about the center of Lee county. The church continued to meet until 1879.

PROVIDENCE

Providence Church was organized in 1843, at or near New Nashville, in Lee County, and united with the Des Moines River Association the same year. The church apparently dissolved prior to 1860. Elder William Bradley founded the church, and served as pastor until his death, after which the church was destitute of a pastor.
