CHURCHES:

COLE CREEK (LATER BUFFALO)

Buffalo Church was constituted on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in November 1893, at Fanshaw, in Indian Territory, by Elders R. L. Piles and J. B. Little, with the following members: R. W. Lockett, J. W. Watkins, Eliza Watkins, E. Lockett and M. C. Parker.

The first name of this church was Cole Creek. In October 1899, by mutual consent, the church was moved to Oklahoma Territory, and the name changed to Buffalo. The first pastors of the church were Elders J. B. Little and Moses Barton.

This church became a member of Elk Creek Association.

Pilgrim's Rest Church in Arkoma was organized in . . .
This church was a member of the Salem Association of Arkansas.

WISTER (WISTER)

CANAAN VIEW (POTEAU)(1997)

Canaan View Church, at 502 Carter St., Poteau, was organized on June 28, 1997.
