CHURCHES:

BEAR GRASS (1784)

Bear Grass Church was located about six miles east of Louisville. This church was organized by Elder John Whitaker.


LONG RUN

BACK RUN

Back Run Church, located about 20 miles southeast of Louisville, was one of the churches which stood against the introduction of the modern mission system. This church withdrew from the Goshen Association and united with the Otter Creek Association when it was organized in 1839.


CHENOWITH'S RUN (JEFFERSONTOWN) (1792)

Chenowith Run Church was organized on June 16, 1792, by Elders Joshua Morris and Joshua Carman, with the following charter members, viz., John and Jane Mundle, David White, Suky White, Micajah Mayfield, John and Catherine Sharp, William and Sarah Tyler, Robert and Massie Donaldson, Elisha Freeman, Edward Brant, Leah McCown, Elizabeth Sharp, Elizabeth Stuart, Sarah Curry, Punish Applegate, Rodham Seaton, and a negro named Jack. All of these had letters of dismission from Brashears Creek Church except Jack, who had a letter from Cedar Creek Church in Nelson Co., Kentucky.
