CHURCHES:MILL CREEK
Mill Creek Church was organized at the home of Brother James Crowley, in Holt County, in 1842, by a presbytery composed of Elders William Thorp and G. B. Thorp.
Mill Creek Church first united with the Fishing River Association, then the Platte River Association, and finally the Nodaway Association.
Pastors who served Mill Creek Church included Elders G. B. Thorp, Franklin Jenkins, Jesse Todd, E. C. Moore, and W. J. Pollard. Many other ministers names appear in the records as having preached here through the years.
The church built several meeting houses in early years, the exact location of which we have not yet determined. In 1879 the church purchased a large school building near Forest City and used it for their meeting house. Some of the earlier buildings were probably log structures.
