Church and Family History Research Assistance for Henderson County, Kentucky

CHURCHES:

GRAVE CREEK (1803)

Grave Creek Church was the first church of any faith organized in Henderson County. It was organized in 1803. Elder John Dorris was the first pastor. The church became a member successively of the Red River, Little River, and Highland Associations. A meeting house was erected in 1815. In 1834 the church went into the modern mission system, and withdrew from the Highland Association, and was dropped from fellowship of the Primitive Baptists.
