CHURCHES:

LITTLE ZION (SEVERY)

Little Zion Church, near Severy (or Eureka), was organized in September 1869, through the labors of Ira Turner, who was not yet ordained to the ministry at that time. Elder Rice Harris assisted them in the constitution. The ten charter members were Thomas Sears, James Hawkins, America Hawkins, Noah Taylor, Henry Richey, Barbara Richey, Ira Turner, Malinda Turner, Elizabeth Mills, and Sarah Wood.

RICH VALLEY

Rich Valley Church, near Toronto, was organized a little after Little Zion, same county, through the labors of Elder Ira Turner, who was later ordained by this church. Pastors included Elders H. B. Willoughby and F. M. Sutton, both of whom served for many years.

Chatman, Fellingham, Haney, Lucas, Mead, Reavis, Sutton, Turner, Willoughby, Woods (very incomplete list due to loss of records).

GOOD HOPE

Good Hope Church, near Severy, was organized January 12, 1903, with seven members, viz., Eddie Reavis, Julia A. Reavis, L. C. Lucas, Ann Lucas, John Reavis, Zerelda A. Reavis, and Frances E. Woods, all of whom were dismissed from Rich Valley Church. Elders Charles R. Bixler and W. F. McCormick formed the presbytery.
