Silver Creek Church, "on Owens Creek in the County of Knox and Territory of Northwest of the River Ohio in the Illinois Grant was constituted as a church on the scriptures of the Old and New Testament and principles of the Baptist Confession of Faith adopted at Philadelphia in the year of our Lord 1765. Being constituted by Brother Isaac Edwards, where we have hereunto set our hands this day and date above writte. John Fislar, Sophia Fislar, John Pettet, Cattren Pettet." November 22, 1798.
