CHURCHES:

WEST FORK OF RED RIVER (1803)

LITTLE RIVER (HOPKINSVILLE)(1803/1804)

Little River Church was one of the churches which organized the Red River Association in 1806. In 1813 it became a part of the Little River Association. Elder Peyton S. Nance was a member of this church at about the time of the division of the Little River Association over missions, and he stood firm with the Primitive Baptists, and served as moderator of the association for many years afterwards. In 1832, just before the division, this church had about 102 members. In 1833, the year of the division, the church increased to 167 members, probably from the introduction of the new innovations. The church divided, in 1833, with the part lately added going to the missionary movement, while part of the church remained with the Primitive Baptists.

EAST FORK OF POND RIVER (1804)

BARREN SPRING (1810)(NAME CHANGED TO CROCKETT'S CREEK IN 1818)

Barren Spring Church, later called Crockett's Creek, was organized in November 1809 as an arm of Dry Creek Church of Trigg County. It was originally in Kentucky, but later moved to Stewart County, Tennessee. Some of the earliest members included Joseph Sanders, Rose Sanders, James Sanders, Rebecca Sanders, Archibald Lee and wife, Samuel Sanders, and Nelly Sanders. In August 1810, the arm received Neal McMullen, Nancy McMullen, John Banthel, Rebekah Banthel, Philip Sanders, and Tanners Sanders. The following month a petition was made to Dry Creek Church for helps to constitute them as a separate church.

This church went into the mission system at the time of the division of the Little River Association in 1833, but probably some of the members withdrew and went with the Primitive Baptists.

MCFARLAND'S FORK OF POND RIVER

McFarland's Fork of Pond River Church hosted the Red River Association in 1812.

NEW HOPE (HOPKINSVILLE)

WEST UNION (BELLE VIEW)(1819)

West Union Church was organized with seventeen charter members, in November 1819. The presbytery was composed of Elders John Mallory, Dudley Williams, and David Haggard. In the division of the Little River Association in 1833, this church went with the missionaries.
