CHURCHES:

LITTLE FLOCK (MANDAVILLE)(1845)

Little Flock Church was organized in about 1845, by Elders William Turnage and John Turnage. For some years they met in homes and in the Methodist and Christian church buildings, but in about 1877 they built a new meeting house of their own in Mandaville. Elder R. M. Ogle was the pastor of the church at this time, and Elder Robert B. Knox was ordained at that time. James H. Frizzell and Marion M. Shirley were deacons of this church, at that time, and they had 38 members.

PROVIDENCE (HALE)

HOPE

Hope Church was organized at the Walnut Grove meeting house, near Wakenda, on the second Sunday, October 12, 1873, with six charter members, viz., Joseph M. Watson, Henry Phillips, Kezia Watson, Louisa Phillips, Anna Davidson, and Margaret Acton. The presbytery was composed of Elder David Bartley, moderator, and Bro. Mark Whitaker, clerk.
