CHURCHES:

EDDY GROVE (LATER, EQUALITY)(PRINCETON)(1799)

Eddy Grove Church was organized in 1799, by members dismissed from Red River Church, in Montgomery County, Tennessee, by Elders Edmund Bearden, Reuben Rowland, and Daniel Brown. This church first united with the Red River Association; then, in 1813, was the host church for the formation of the Little River Association. When the Little River Association divided over the modern mission system (the doctrines and practices of those holding a general atonement) this church also divided, and those who remained with the Primitive Baptists became known as Equality Church in about 1837.
