CHURCHES:CEDAR RIVER
Cedar River Church was organized in about 1863, and soon became a member of the Mt. Pleasant Association. The only members names which have been found thus far, are: Elder Charles N. Martin, M. Eveland, and John H. Martin, due to loss of records.
PROVIDENCE
Providence Church, in Bremer County, hosted the Turkey River Association in 1874, and therefore was organized prior to that date, but how much earlier we do not know. The church was active until at least 1897. The last five or six years of its existence, the church was served by Elder M. L. Jackson, of Nora Springs, Iowa, and the meetings were held in the home of William and Katherine Shaw, of Clarksville, in Butler County, Iowa.
