Primitive Baptist Churches Organized in Illinois
Between 1796 and 1840
Churches of the Primitive Baptist faith and order were established in Illinois in the earliest pioneer days, the first being in May 1796. Without a modern missionary system, the following churches were established throughout Illinois by pioneer Primitive Baptist ministers, who preached the gospel without charge.
