CHURCHES:

TURMAN'S CREEK (SCOTTS HILL) (1833)

Turman's Creek Church was organized on the fourth Sunday in July 1833, with 13 charter members. The Presbytery was composed of Elders Temple Hicks, Elias Keaton and W. M. Wolverton. The original log church was named for Turman's Creek which was named, for an early settler who was probably the first one in that settlement.
